Borough of Lavallette Public Notice
Pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mayor of the Borough of Lavallette in accordance with the provisions of the “Open Public Meetings Law” P.L. 1975, Chapter 231 has made changes to the Council Meeting schedule of 2018.
The Monday, January 22, 2018 Caucus/Regular Council Meeting has been changed to Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Regular Business will be held as well as Action being taken. Meeting will be held at 7:00 pm at 1306 Grand Central Avenue, Council Chambers, Lavallette, NJ.

Animal License

Cats and dogs must be re-licensed every year, licenses are good for the calendar year, and can not be issued unless the current rabies vaccination is good through October 31st of the the calendar year, please bring rabies certification.

Income Tax Exemption for Veterans

New for Tax Year 2017.You are eligible for a $3,000 exemption on your Income Tax return if you are a military veteran who was honorably discharged or released under honorable circumstances from active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States by the last day of the tax year. Your spouse (or civil union partner) is also eligible for an exemption if he/she is a veteran who was honorably discharged or released under honorable circumstances and you are filing a joint return. All vehicles must be removed from streets when roadway becomes snow covered. Additional parking is available at the municipal parking lots located at President Avenue and Bay Boulevard and Washington Avenue and Bay Boulevard.

Reminder to everyone to remove their vehicles to make plowing possible, when the streets become snow covered.

Saltwater Fishing Registry
Fish
Everyone 16 or older must register and carry the printed registration with them when fishing.

All saltwater anglers and for-hire vessel operators will now be able to register through the no-fee State system rather than the fee-based federal system. Anglers still must register with the state system even if they have already registered with the federal system.

Those who fish from a for-hire party or charter fishing vessel that is registered with the New Jersey Saltwater Recreational Registry Program are not required to file for an individual registration.
